Metcem Filters

Metcem - our own brand of high temperature ceramic and mineral filters

Over the years, Glosfume's experience with hundreds of thousands of third-party vacuum formed ceramic filters quickly led to the realisation that these products were often incapable of meeting our demanding requirements.

That's why, five years ago, we started to design and manufacture our own high temperature ceramic filters - and became a world leader in this specialised field. Today, Glosfume filter elements are stronger than any other currently available ceramic element - in fact, they actually become stronger at high temperatures to give better performance and a longer service life.

Advantages over other high temperature filter elements

For your plant's operational efficiency, Glosfume Metcem high temperature ceramic filter elements are manufactured using a unique proprietary process. For the highest product quality and consistency, our specially designed manufacturing plant is totally computerised to produce high strength elements with a low-pressure drop and many advantages over other filter elements:

  • Stronger than any other currently available ceramic filter element
  • Increase in strength when subjected to high temperature
  • Minimal virgin pressure drop
  • Continuity in density for better performance
  • Even wall thickness for more consistent filtration
  • Reinforced neck and end for longer service life
  • Greater efficiency than bag and electrostatic filters at high and low operating temperatures
  • Specially engineered fibre formulations for up to 3 times greater strength.

Testing in the most difficult filtration applications

For your reassurance, we've done a vast amount of R&D work, with Metcem elements being tested at a wide range of temperatures and subjected to the most difficult filtration applications.

Experience from more than 300 operational hot gas filtration systems

Current vacuum formers producing hot gas filter elements must often rely on other companies (such as Glosfume) for performance data - and most have little or no access to actual filter applications.

The Metcem development team, however, has access to more than 175 operational Glosfume hot gas filtration systems. These cover more than 30 different processes, ranging from carcass incineration to nuclear waste. That's why, when you specify Metcem filters, you know you're getting the performance and peace of mind that comes from our accumulated industry knowledge.
